Looking at broadheads questions are...
Are the montec cs strong and how are they with penetration and flight.
Are the exodus good with penetration.

I shot two deer this year with the same Exodus (new blades between kills of course). I am shooting 58# and both were pass throughs and buried 6-8" in the dirt on the other side of the deer. That same head is back in the #1 spot in my quiver with new blades.

I use Montec CS

Pros:
Reusable (they are easy to sharpen once you learn)
Amazing penetration
Killed 5 deer with them so far, all fell in site.
They fly great.

Cons
Blood trail is lacking - I had one leave an excellent trail. The others were noticeable, but not a red carpet. But again, they fell in site so I wasnt looking hard for blood.

My brother just started using Exodus and they seem to be great as well. I think you would be happy with both.

Someone did a comparison on penetration among a bunch of different fixed blade broadheads and the QAD and Ramcats had the deepest penetration. The Montecs were about in the lower middle to middle in rankings. QAD's are amazing broadheads and fly like field tips.

Hands down the exodus over the montec. Montec are a great head but as stated not the best blood trails.

I've shot over 20 animals with the Exodus with 50 and 60 lbs bows and no problems with pass thru but on a couple frontal shots but went up to fletching and kill them both.

The guy that killed the hog in pic above he's killed a pile of animals with exodus I would think he's over 30 animals with the Exodus by now. He has some great video and pics of the holes they make! They got the nickname triangle of death.

I have shot Montecs for the last 2 seasons (my first two seasons Bowhunting) I plan on keeping a known BH and test one BH per season. I like the montecs and can get them scary sharp, but as other have stated the blood trail wasn't great and at times, very slight. But i get pass throughs were ever i hit. was really liking the Exodus and planning on getting some this off season. What is the difference between the Exodus Full and Swept? I looked at Qad's website and couldn't find much to tell a difference.

The Exodus cuts a bigger hole which can be good or bad. I have personally chosen the Exodus over the HellRazor (similar to Montec but better) for deer and would use something smaller like the HellRazor for elk for penetration. I have a short draw and only shoot 60 lbs so lean towards heads that will offer me better penetration on elk. I blow the Exodus through any deer.

Good QAD Exodus Swept story here ....

I shot a black bear out of my tree this Fall that was quartering towards me facing me at 10 yards.

The arrow hit the bear high and in front of shoulder .... clipped both lungs and liver .... exited lower stomach and then passed thru the bears back leg .... breaking bone.

2 entrance and 2 exit holes.
Blood trail was awesome.
Arrow and broadhead looked good as new lying on the ground.
Bear lunged 10 yards and fell down .... got up again and fell down .... got up again and staggered 50 yards.
I knew its back leg was broken watching this and was bummed that I might have made a poor shot.

I would like to see larger cutting diameter on the QAD heads ..... but either way I am staying with them.
I get better flight from them than I did with 2 diff Slicks...

Shot G5 Montecs, G5 Montec CS and recently QAD Exodus. The QAD Exodus wins IMO. It is a solid, sharp, accurate, well built, durable broadhead. Flys just as well as the Montec CS. As others have said, my experience with Montecs are poor blood trails even on good hits. Even on those where I've seen them drop, it'd be nice to know that the cut produced more blood. Plus there is a bit of noise during flight.

As for Exodus, it is a quieter broadhead and I got to see how it handled this season. I killed a deer and due to horrible shot placement on a "quartering to" shot, I hit the back two ribs and exited through the opposite leg. The opposite leg bone (the rear shank) was busted nearly in half. The blood trail was way impressive and I was picking up big chips of bone along the trail. Even after going through a hard bone, the head had a slightly bent blade and that was it. The point was still sharp as well as the other blades.

Though I didn't get to see how it performed on a textbook through the rib cage shot, I've seen enough. It is a very sharp blade and for it to be that durable, it's a winner hands down.
