anyone know what the black thingy is for near the middle of the stabilizer, it wasnt on the quads on the doinker site.

It's a movable weight. It can be removed or installed anywhere on the stabilizer to customize the balance of the bow.

If you look at it closely it is actually two pieces. They don't pull apart, but actually slide away from each other along the rods. You'll see.

It is a c shaped piece

it is a c shape piece of metal on mine that goes around a rubber sleeve.
