Question about building a bowfishing arrow

Yes, you can make your own out of aluminum arrows. However, They'll get bent and be worthless extremely quickly. Do NOT drill a hole through a carbon arrow, very very dangerous. I don't recomend drilling a hole through aluminum arrows either.

No reason to use broadheads. Makes it harder to reliably reel your catch in and it is a massive safety concern. It's dangerous enough to get a snap back with just a barbed head, don't add razor sharp blades to the mix.

No need for fletching, the resistance of the line being pulled out of the hopper stabilises the arrow for the brief period it's in the air.
