I have been having some problems getting a bow in spec and noticed something. I cannot seem to get this bow in spec and was looking at the cams real hard. The bow is an '04 and was bought second hand, the top cam is in much better shape than the bottom one and I am wondering if maybe the bottom one was switched out at some time. These are "C" cams, here are some pics, look at the arrows for the dl slots and the lettering seems different also. The finish of the cams are also different. I am wondering if the bottom cam is an '03 cam and the top is '04. Let me know what you think.

Thanks Javi, I was almost hoping they were different in some way, then I could blame my problem on something other than my tuning "skills" or lack thereof. I know that one problem is the VT strings that were bought by the specs off the bow, so they were already too long to start with. I am frustrated that string makers (other than WC) don't seem to know how Hoyt lists the string lengths and compensate for it. Of course I just recently learned this, the hard way of course!!

I wouldn't blame vapor trail...

I bought new vapor trail strings and cables for my '03 Ultratec based on the sticker on the bow and they were dead on perfect. My guess is if the strings were not right is that the cams have been replaced with another size (the C cams were not original) and therefore the sticker was for the old cams. At least that is my best guess..

Nope, says right on the sticker 25.5-28. C cams are 25.5-28. VT made the strings to spec "twisted" and Hoyt lists the lengths AMO which is untwisted. WC makes an adjustment for this and apparently VT does not. I didn't know this prior to ordering the strings or I would have ordered them untwisted . You are very fortunate that yours were spot on.

I ordered the specs off the bow and checked against the tune charts, it is my fault for not knowing this, but it just seems that someone in the business of making strings would know this.
