You will notice a difference in where your shot hits. Your string won't stop in the same place without one. Get a new one put on. My shots sucked when I didn't have one. I installed a Norway string tamer on my Mathews. It is like night and day with and without one.i

Then why is it that most of the hoyt target bows do not have string stops and the shoot 60'x no problem?????

If you set your sight with it on and then take it off. It will not hit in the same place.
