Used to shoot when i was young people used to shoot with the discolored fletching on the bottom now i see people shoot it to the side

Should i be shooting it to the side now or? just by style of the years people change up ? or something better now days ?

If you are shooting with a recurve bow (no wheels up on top or bottom)
then shoot with the discolored fletching to the side.

I think that would depend entirely on what kind of arrow rest you're using.

It all depends on what kind of rest you are shooting. If you use a drop away rest you want the cock vane (see if that gets through the filter) facing up. If you are shooting a shoot-through style rest it should face down. With a flipper of off the shelf it should face out.
