I live in Alabama, and the minimum weight for a broadhead is 100 gr.(state law). With a 100 gr. Montec my FOC = 8.5%. I know it is not all about speed, I guess what I'm asking would going to a 125 gr. Montec (or other COC head) make much of a difference with FOC, or would you think that my 8.5% would be enough. :embara:

It's been my experience that as long as your arrows are spined stiff enough that you can get away with a 8% foc and still get good flight and accuracy. The higher foc figures seem to help more in a windy situation and at longer ranges. Don't get me wrong, I am an advocate of higher foc figures and would probably recommend going with the 125 gr. point, but the 8.5% will probably be OK.

My arrows are cut 27" + insert Plus Broadhead = 28 1/8"

Also I shoot Carbon Express Maxima Hunter 350 and at 27" length they may be overspined.

You could be looking at about a 2.5% increase in your FOC by goin with the 125gr.
