Can anybody give me info on recurve bow cases. Bought one from 3Rivers and it didnt fit. Its just a black hunter recurve but I do not want to take the limbs off every time. But I would like to take the string off and be able to store with protection. Do I need a special case or something? Any info would be great.

How long is the bow? I don’t like dissembling either so I got this from 3Rivers: .30-06 Outdoors 66" Longbow / Recurve Bow Case

also got a string keeper. Combo works well.
60” long. I bought the Bear recurve but when I unstrung it the curve was too much and didn’t fit the case. It was wider than the case.
And what is a string keeper?
Rugid Cases. Waterproof, excellent quality. Black Widow sells some nice ones for non take down bows.
Get an Upholsterer to make you one for your spec. He can also add little pockets on the side for broad heads, arrows etc or for tools or anything you like to store with. Getting the right guy can make you something that fit your need at a better price. My gun bag was made to my needs at half the price.

My one friend made his own bow case from the hard roll that you get inside carpet or material rolls.

I have one from 3006 outdoors that i purchased from 3 rivers archery. Fits a 62 inch bow with room to spare, has a carry handle, a full length zipper and a small side pocket that holds my bow stringer, arm guard and shooting tab.
I also made one out of pvc pipe with capped ends and a rope handle. The bow goes in a cheap bow sock and then the combo goes inside the pipe. Cheap, easy and bulletproof.

Just a black hunter recurve… sounds like you are selling the bow short… those are great bows… 👍 check out October Mountain Products as well. They have nice recurve cases.

Its a small hood that sits on the limb tip and hooks into the top loop of the string. When the bow is unstrung it keeps tension on the string so its less likely to fall off the bow.
Personally if you plan on transporting it whole id get a gun sock and put the bow in it. You can get a 5 pack for like 20 bucks on amazon.

I made mine out of double plies of canvas with a pocket and it really works great. I didn’t want to take the bow down to transport. I shoot most days so my bow stays strung.
