had a guy bring in a old recurve today to sell for $30.

i bought it personally and wanted to get it up and functioning for plinking.

was looking for strings and decided with dracon.

any how, was wondering how to calculate the string length i needed.

i measured it's length with a tape measure and it came out at 58" now i need to find what string length i need.

all help will be appreciated

you have a 58" bow, go 3" short. order a 55" string.....some order a 4" shorter string but i think thats too short..........:wink:

Recurves and longbows are different from compounds. You don't order a specific length string unless you're doing something to customize it.

The bow should have markings on the side of the riser (handle). Look for the AMO length. You measured the bow so know it's 58". The number on the riser should say AMO 58".

When you order a string you order "58" AMO". The string you get should be 4" shorter, but the packaging will say 58" AMO. That's an ATA (Once AMO) standard in archery.
