A friend of mine has a Ben Pearson recurve that his father in law bought years ago. It has no string and he wants to get one for it. How can I determine what length string to make or purchase for this bow?
Check the markings on the bow, it should say something like AMO XX". You can either order an AMO XX" string or an AMO XX" - 4" actaul length string. Which BP model is it?
If it doesn't say that anywhere, if its a longbow just measure groove to groove and subtract 3-4". If its a recurve, measure groove to groove and that should get you pretty close to the actual string length.
