Reign 6 Upgrade?

Good morning AT! Looking for some input on possibly retiring my Reign 6.

Reasons in my over thinking things brain; DEADLOCK, shorter, and smoother draw and maybe a little new things are cool. Lol!

Reign specs; 62 lbs @ 28”
Victory Rip XV 300 @ 27.25” 225 Gr upfront with 3 AAE’s and nocturnal’s. Primarily a saddle hunter.

Anything comparable or better from bowtech? I have shot the Revolt x it was very nice but don’t need 33 ata but not a deal breaker.

Thx

I have both a reign 6 and a revolt X. The X string angle is way better and holds on target for me better. Reign is quieter and zero vibration at shot. The deadlock system is awesome on the X but can get to same results with the yokes. I typically hunt with the Reign more, little more speed and just seems to move in and around better. I’ve shot mostly all the new Bowtech hunting bows and for me the speed and smoothness of the reign series was hard to beat!

If you prefer the shorter ATA then get a Revolt or a Solution SS. If you want to buy a new bow look into the CP30.

The Revolt is SUPER smooth and holds well, and a longer brace height than the Revolt X. I don't like ATA under 32" so it was a no-go for me but if you like them those are the bows I'd look at.

Once tuned you can't beat the R6 for accuracy, speed, and its compactness in the woods. It holds on target for me real well also BUT I can't draw #70 anymore and had to turn it down. Bowtech basically traded the R6 for my 07 Guardian that couldn't be repaired by BT so...I had the choice between the R6 or the BT Mag. Anyhow..as of the new '23 releases I've been back n forth about the SS34...I've yet to shoot it and will in the next few weeks. Maybe get back to one bow that can do it all and be a bit more forgiving as well with the longer BH and ATA. The R35 is one helluva bow to be carrying in the Elk woods as a primary yet alone a backup. My DL is 29.5...so you can imagine I have to be on my game shooting the R6. Don't get me wrong...I can shoot broadheads to 60 but I can shoot my R35 much better. So...for me I'd compromise somewhere in the 33-34" ATA window....BUT I'll wait for the same cam tuning technology(not the deadlock) that's on their new target lineup to adorn their hunting bows cam. Don't overlook the new CP30. A compact bow with a bit longer BH that would be a great tree stand/saddle bow.....or the RevoltXL as you mentioned. You'd have to fling some arrows through both to come to a decision and in the end get the updated cam that you're looking for. Not much information here for ya but I understand. My R6 is basically a stray dog that I didn't want BUT ended up sleeping on the back porch and is here to stay...until I can find it a better home.

Here's a thread with discussion on the RevoltX and the SS34 if you're interested in some more opinions. The struggle is real, bro.

You'd also need to see if you like the Clutch grip since it's a bit different than the Reign. I personally love the thin/flat grip (the Gillingham grip is a great upgrade from the stock Clutch) but some people hate it.

I've toyed with the idea of getting a BT Mag, but I think I'll hold out for a Reckoning 35 since I like the Clutch grip.

I would try to shoot the Solution SS. 30" ata and insanely smooth draw at 60lbs. The SS got my father able to shoot a compound again after he tore his shoulder (he shot an insanity for nearly 8 years). He's hunts out of a saddle as well as loves everything about it. I've shot it a few times and am impressed with how smooth and stable the platform shoots. Plus it is 2 years old and you can get them for a decent price used now, could save you $400 compared to this year's Bowtechs

I've been having the same thoughts, but after looking and looking I've decided I'm not really gaining anything. I love the speed, smoothness and quiet of my R6. I don't love the grip but have gotten used to it. And I know it was just me wanting something new. I would advise throwing some limbs dampeners on your reign if you don't already have them. With those you won't find a more quiet or vibrating free bow

I am a newish Reign 6 owner, responding to this thread so I have a starting point when I am looking for my next used 10-year-old bow (my boys are eyeing my Reign 6 and almost strong enough to actually use it).
