Replacing fiber optics on a Truglo Tru-site Xtreme Tool-less

(I had started this thread, under a different title name, in the wrong forum. I believe it's in the right forum now.)

I got this sight for free (including the light), but it appears that at least 3 of the 5 fibers are broken. So I want to replace all of them. I see where Cabela's has the Truglo replacement fibers (5 x .029") for sale, but I've been reading about the BRIGHTFIBERS AND TOUGHFIBERS and I am interested.

Has anyone with this sight (or any one of the Tru-site Xtreme series sights) replaced the fibers? Just looking for some helpful info before I start.

That would be very much appreciated!

I've did quite a bit of reading about the fibers you're selling. I might have missed this in my reading, but how much tougher is the TOUGHFIBER than the BRIGHTFIBER...if a comparison can be made. Thanks.

One other thing, I noticed you're in North Louisana. How far are you from Shreveport?

I went w the toughfiber in my .019" 5 pin truglo site. I went w/ green and hunter orange every other and they are super bright. The old red and yellow seemed to fade out in low light. Its a little tricky getting the ends to stay put but I got mine swapped and they are staying put so far!
