i thought about commenting in the video that a lot of folks are questioning his chrono accuracy, but he's kind of too cool for school and i doubt he would take it well

yeah, here's my hint

my revolt is on comfort setting, 58 pounds, 30 inches, 410 grain arrow, but with a crazy loaded string (50 grains at least on string...5/16 peep, cat whiskers, d loop, tied nocks inside d loop, extra serving below peep with a large kisser button tied on to act as a huge nose button for a short bow).....shot through a brand new prochrono (with and without light kit)....it shoots 265 fps about every single time (very consistent)....this back calculates to around 320 fps ibo for that bow on comfort with a bare string....that matches other reviews and is what you might expect in that bowtech says 335 but subtract 5 fps for usual fudge and then another 10 for going from performance to comfort

but it's not a fast bow at all, and i don't care....it's my tree saddle killing machine and ridiculously easy to pull back and with crazy high letoff

just about every bow he shot this year ibo'd at around 320 fps for him.....no way

also, his numbers are all over the place 300 to 308 fps spread over a few shots with this guy's experience?

I like this guy's content but he's definitely leans heavily for Mathews. I'm not suggesting he rigs his tests but I guarantee if either of the V3Xs came in so vastly under IBO he'd be all over the problem instead of chalking it up to sacrificing efficiency. There's two types of brand loyal, die hards. Those who are dedicated to a single brand but have no problem calling them out if there's garbage in the lineup and can eventually reach a frustration point to try out other manufacturers and those who will blindly follow a manufacturer off a cliff while shoveling poo in the mouth championing it's the best they've ever tasted. These guys fall into the latter.

Caldwell chronos aren’t known for reliability and accuracy, I personally think they are garbage. If this one is reading correctly the XL only missed BTs advertised speeds in this video by 5 fps when you account for the dl. It’s a 320ish IBO bow and not designed to be at it’s best @ 30” DL, so speed chasers are going to be disappointed. Head to head vs my Reign 7 (IBO 340) @ 31.25” dl, there was only 3 fps difference between them with 491, 536 and 573 grain arrows. The demo XL was @ 31.5” and I have never felt a smoother draw cycle at that dl.
I will post my results with a range of arrow weights through my chrono when I pick up my XL.

yeah, bowtech is rating the xl at 33 inch draw and the x80 at 80 lbs draw, which is dumb and deceives some people (they should provide their special rating and a traditional one at 30/70 and clearly label each)

also, if this thing is that much slower than a revolt/revolt x.....then they should've kept the revolt x in the line up.....and i'm glad i bought a revolt when i did and might look for an x in the classified

I personally own 2 chrono's. 2 Different brands and I use a third brand at my local shop that I shoot through.. I'm telling you right now that dude's chrono is constantly slow. Up to 10fps slower at the exact same specs with the exact same bows compared to all 3 of the chrono's that I have access too. Just saying.

I took MFJJ's numbers today and those of Poe Outdoors video and got some surprising data. After putting them all on paper I came to the conclusion that neither of those guys numbers were off and for that matter neither is Bowtech. The XL should send a 350 gn arrow @ 343 fps at 33" DL and in performance setting ofcourse & based on both sets of chrono numbers. So if you give 5 fps for BT fudge and weight on the string id say thats dang close to its listed speeds.

Also, i got no indication that the XL wakes up at longer draw lengths. Those numbers were pretty straight up across the board if you figure 8fps per inch of DL and 3gn of arrow weight per 1-fps.

Here's some more to chew on.
I just chrono'd my Traverse to compare its 338 Ibo rating against these number from those of Poe Outdoors.
Pro Chrono
My Traverse @ 32" DL - 70# - 75% Let off - 491 gn arrow - 289 fps. w peep, loop, small cat whiskers
Poe's Revolt -XL Chrono numbers were @ 33" DL - 70# - 491 gn arrow - 298 fps > performance setting
Deduct 8 fps for DL and you get two bows that are basically the same in terms of performance.

This issue of the Revolt XL being a slow poke is officially over as far as I'm concerned. You folks can kick dirt & and argue about who's chrono is useless and who's bow is slow all you want but I've seen enough to ease my own concerns.

Well folks I got my Revolt XL in and had to set it up. Mine is shooting my same 491 gn arrow shot 291 fps in comfort mode @ 70# 32.5" DL. Then in Performance mode it shot 299 fps same DL.
My arm was still bent way to far so i set it to 33" DL and got 302 fps. Not much of a difference in speed but it sure felt a little better. I can throw on a longer D loop and pick up the rest for fit wise but overall I'm quite happy with it. One more thing tho...these numbers were without a peep sight and Poe Outdoors numbers were with a peep so I'll re-check again after final set up and get it dialed in. All I have for now. One thing for dang sure is its certainly no dog.

Well folks I got my Revolt XL in and had to set it up. Mine isn't shooting quite what I thought it would be at. I thought it'd be at about 278 fps with my 491 gn arrow in Comfort mode so these numbers I'm getting are a bit surprising because my same 491 gn arrow shot 291 fps in comfort mode @ 70# 32.5" DL. Then in Performance mode it shot 299 fps same DL.

And it shoots like a dream.

Reckoning 35 and Reckoning 38

You'll probably be able to get a good deal on a used one of those in the next few months or next year when Bowtech releases their new target lineup.

MFJJ even says in the video they had to clock the cams differently to get the longer draw length which looses efficiency at lower draw lengths. I would go with the Revolt X if you aren't in the longer draw lengths. I also think its great to see a super long draw bow for the big dudes out there. I would buy and shoot what is supported by my local shop if you can't tune your own gear. I believe all the manufactures flag ship bows are all good. I just prefer bows that I don't need a press for to work on. I have an old 2008 bowtech general and just got a new, old stock, echelon 37 from Elite to try something new for target. I like Elite and Bowtech since they have came adjustability without having to remove shims.
Speed is not the king of archery. It's consistency.
