http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCGMNihQemw here's the how to video for cord replacement. takes about 10min. as far as red cord you should be able to get one from your bow shop. I used the same material as my D loop and its worked fine for a year

So easy to do I figured it out all by my self.

The cord can be had cheaply on e-bay.

I replaced the cord with blue on my G5 to match the bow.

I changed the cord on mine this winter...seriously only takes minutes. BCY D-loop material is a perfect fit...60X on here sells it for 75 cents a foot with cheap shipping and he's got all the colors.
