Anyone use rubber blunts to ward off unwanted bears etc when in the treestand??

My friend shot a doe with a blunt at 60 yards and thought he broke a rib. The sound was incredible. If you have a pistol too go ahead and let it fly. I just would want to scare them up my tree.

I do feral hog control and carry a slingshot and a pocket full of expended bullets picked up out of the dirt backstop at the range to run off the deer so some corn will be left to attract and hold the hogs. Amazing how high a deer can jump when you thump them with one--and on the opposite end of the spectrum, how stupid cows can be. Have 3 longhorns on one place I hunt and only one place (other than the head) I can shoot the bull to make him leave--
