The only bow that seems to be slower is the ultra. But it has a 7in brace height, so it should be "slower". I dont get to hung up on numbers in general unless its excessive or blatantly ridiculous. People are getting hung up on the weight of the Hoyt carbons this year too. They are definitely lighter than last years. For me its not the weight per say. I shoot an older PSE carbon and bare bow it is LIGHT but in order to get the balance I wanted I had to put stabs on it. Its not light anymore. With these new Hoyts I dont think I will have to add anything to it. So full dressed hunting rig will probably be lighter in the end. Its balance and shoot ability for me. If I have to compromise its going to be a little speed for a great draw cycle.

Here's another review must be a slow Chrono, Either that or they're missing the bad boy fairy dust needed to make it come in at stated speeds

on my traverse i went from a WB to a drop away and also noticed a 2fps difference between the two. so not much of a hit going with a WB.
I put an HDX on my sons bow taking off his WB and didn’t pick up any speed at all. Just one of many over blown excuses to half rationalize inflated speeds

My ultra rx7 speed
30" draw setting.
Lightest arrow I could come up with. I could probably find a light field tip but don't want to dig thru all my junk drawers. I also had to go get the arrow out of target and didn't have feet spot marked so might cout for the speed difference. D loop only on bow with those shots.

That is right on for its IBO rating.

Couple things stand out in the second video. The bows were shot by different people before and after the rest was changed. The second thing is they stand in different location/ distance from the chronograph. Be nice to see that those variables taken out of the test.

I dont think two different people shooting the same bow would effect speed. They were pretty close to the same spot in the beginning of the video.

4.5lbs is what I got last night without the short stabilizer for the ultra. That was with a whisker biscuit. So I would assume 4.4-4.5? Regarding speeds, I am calculating this bow to be right at IBO. Not sure where this 15-20 FPS slow stuff is coming from. Whisker biscuits are going to slow down a bow 6-8 fps as well.
Forget IBO… my comparison was to my CS34. It was 15fps slower. The ventum pro 33 was 3fps faster than my CS34.

CS34 rated at 330fps. New Ultra and ventum pro 33 both rated to 334. Same DL, DW, and arrow. Same Chrono. That math doesn’t work.
491gr arrow, 28.5 draw

Ultra 255fps
CS34 270fps
Ventum Pro 33 273fps

You must have a slow one then......Im not seeing that big of a gap on the ones I tested

Maybe, or maybe it wasn’t tuned but the shop is very reputable in Colorado. The regular RX7 which is supposed to be 342fps(?) was also only 263fps. You could blame the whisker biscuit but both new bows had them. When I got home I shot the ventum through my chrono with a drop away and it registered 278 but that’s with a different chrono. I should get to another shop tomorrow to try another ultra and compare.
