Congratulations on getting back into bow hunting. They are both great; kind of depends on how much less the RX7 is in my mind. At a certain point, you either buy the RX8 or the Alpha X. This should help you make your decision.

Both are great bows and I feel you can't go wrong with either one. For me it was easy, I was going to get a RX8 but ended up finding a new left over RX7 for a great price. It is so close for the 25's you might be able to do the same and get a RX8 for a deal at your local bow shop trying to move them before the new ones come out.

Definitely love the draw cycle on the 8. Still have yet to get my hands on a 7 to shoot but if it’s similar enough I figure I’ll save myself a few bucks compared to buying a current flagship. Shot the Torrex today as well and was pleasantly surprised with how it performed

 

Yeah local shop had it for 799 with a QAD rest they’d swapped out instead of the stock one it comes with. Definitely tempted to just give it a go

 

I've owned an rx7, rx8 and rx7 ultra. If you closed your eyes and shot them, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference. The 1/4 in adjustment is really nice, and the 8 is a tad bit quieter (which i definitelyappreciated). If you find a good deal on a 7, I'd jump on it. It's 95% the same shooting experience as the 8 IMO. Good luck 👍

I never shot the RX7….been shooting Mathews for last 4 years.

The RX8 Ultra I got this year is the best drawing and shooting bow I have owned. Been bow hunting for 35 years. I really like the RX8 Ultra.

 

If you do decide to go with the RX7, you will not be disappointed.
