I noticed that too but i think it is the tree in the background making it look bigger.

I think the reason the tine looks smaller is because of the downward angle of the after kill photo. This is probably the same deer. (Unless there is such thing as identicle twin deer.)

It's looks like the same deer. A case could be made that the live deer photo has a little sticker beside his left brow tine ( right in the picture ) that I don't see in the kill photo. That could be some shadowing though. Regardless it's probably him or his twin brother. That's possible as well. I've noticed that I get in yearling twin bucks that have been dispersed from there home range every fall. They hang out together and have very similar rack configurations.
