Has anyone on here had experience with a Sanlida Dragon X8 for a youth bow? It has a lots of flexibility for draw weight and length. I’ve looked into the possibility of one for my 13year old son but would like to hear any feedback beforehand.

Its a really solid bow, depending on his draw weight youll need new arrows if you buy the kit, they are 600 spine, and id recommend a different release, the one with it works, but its not the best.

I am currently waiting on mine to arrive from amazonious... can someone tell me what material the sight is made from? I have watched so many videos on the Dragon X8, and I swear one said the sight was made of plastic, to be careful not to overtighten mounting hardware etc.

New to shooting and have been shooting this bow all summer. I've had a e clip come loose and the plastic washer under it cracked. It's fine but it never went on as tight as the original was. The serving materials is fraying around the cam. I have a new string coming now. Seems like all the replacements are cheap. Which worries me. Could get a custom I guess for more. Drawlength plate screws come loose on regular. I noticed the rattle right away. I check the bow after every few shots. Fine line between its tight and I'm about to strip the screw. Hope this helps.

I have this bow… wanted to get back into archery/hunting and with a baby on the way a couple years ago I couldn’t really afford something like a Mathews or a PSE, BowTech etc… you get the idea.. so I grabbed the Dragon X8 kind of skeptically but honestly - after changing the rest, stabilizer, finding the right spined arrow and tuning it on paper.. it has been nothing but a flat shooting, accurate and consistent bow for the last 2 years… cams are still synced.. nothings loose or rattling and it’s really been a great bow. Great let off too even at my 70lbs… I’ve been pretty thrilled with it actually…

My son and I just got back into archery and about two months ago purchased an X8 to share. It was $200 bucks on amazon. Within two weeks, he had purchased his own because we found the bow to be fantastic. Based on reviews, we immediately replaced the rests and purchased better arrows. Other than that, they are stock. Total outlay per bow is $287.00.

The bow is solid. Very adjustable for draw length and weight. Fit and finish is very good. Honestly if you would have told me this was a $500 bow I wouldn't have questioned it. Sights are better than they should be. Cams are aluminum and finish is fantastic. Bow is quiet, draws nicely, very smooth. Fairly solid backwall.

And although we are a bit out of practice, we are holding our own at the range alongside guys who have dropped 5 times what we spent. Bottom line is that I am very impressed with the Dragon X8.

What ours came with and my thoughts:
Bow: Great value
Rest: Garbage, it will eat your arrows. Get a replacement.
Sights: Very nice. Feels solid and nicely adjustable.
Peep: Fair, may need adjustments/alignment.
Quiver: Decent, it's hard to screw this up.
Wrist sling: cheap and may not last long but easy and cheap to upgrade.
Release: Meh/fair. It works but feels a bit cheap. My son likes his, I use an older release I already had.
Arrows: 500 spine. I only shot two rounds with them and they seem fine. I was advised to purchase others so I really can't give more than an cursory impression. I am keeping them as backup.
Case: Cheap but does the job.
Bow Stand: Garbage. not really even functional.
Stabilizer: I guess it works. Not much to say.

Yeah my bow stand broke like I think 4 hours later of having it in my closet lol… & I changed the stabilizer as well. That hostage rest it came with was doing the job fairly well for me actually.. but then switching over to helical vanes I had to change it..
