What do you guys think about this rest? Anyone have any experience with one or has set on up who can attest to effectiveness?

I'm thinking about going to this rest on a Carbon Defiant. My concerns are with helical or offset fletchings there may not be enough clearance. The obvious advantage is 100% lockdown on arrow containment for a spot and stalk before the shot. I'm interested to know if there's anything better that offers the option to pre-set your arrow in the launch position.

Post pics of your setup if you got it!

I don't have any actual tuning or setup info on this rest but I have shot a bow that had one on it. I too thought it was pretty sweet. First time I'd ever seen one in person, but it seemed to work well and was quiet. After shooting the bow with that rest on it I was looking into them too. Unfortunately there's not a lot of reviews and I just don't think they are very popular. I think I might have even started a thread like this. I did like it but the lack of info on them kind of steered me away. My guess is they are a quality rest that will serve it's purpose well, just not real popular. I also like rests that are capable of supporting the arrow in the up position while stalking or hanging in a tree. I have a qad hdx, and ripcord code red. Both of them work excellent for me.

I've never shot with the QAD HDX or RipCord, do you have the option of keeping the rest in the launch position without drawing? I agree, it's the most innovative design I've ever seen yet they're very limited in distribution. I've seen a couple of things on them just not much.

I used to run a Trophy Ridge HX on my Matrix, however the arrow would get jumpy the faster you drew plus it would not be fully locked down even with the rest locked in the launch position. I'm looking for the best stalking rest that uses a drop away type of launcher really.

I don't have any experience, yet, with this rest; however, I have one on order through my local pro shop. I have dealt directly with John Schaffer though, as well as some of his team at Schaffer Performance Archery. They're customer service is like nothing I've ever experienced. They are excellent to work with, have an obvious high value for the customer, and stand behind their products. John explained the XV to me in detail & how it was different from the Opposition. After speaking with him & Jason, and everything they did for me, plus considering the lifetime guarantee on their products, I am happy to have chosen it for my new Halon 32-6.

I'll follow-up on here once I've been able to put some arrows through it!

100% lockdown on arrow containment for a spot and stalk before the shot.
I got it for just this. Set up was a royal pain I thought. IF it was limbdriven, then it would be light years better. It does lock down though, big time. If you want to be silent on the stalk, then it does the job. As with most equipment, it isn't perfect in every area. I prefer both my Hamskea Micro Adjust AND my old Limbdriver ProVs, but they don't have the 100% lock down. So, that is that...

I had one also. I shoot a QAD now (the integrate one for the new Mathews). The QAD does stay cocked if you let down, which is a great feature. That said, I never had any trouble with my old (pre-XV) Shaeffer. The shop is awesome to deal with and the rest works very well. I never had a single issue with mine.

I shoot FOB's through the XV with no problems so I would not expect a 4 fletch to have any problems. To be sure call John, Jason, or Max at Schaffer Performance Archery (952-894-4139). You will get the answer right from the horse's mouth and in addition be introduced to customer service well above the bow shop industry average.

I have one on my spectra e. No issues with it.

I believe they advise you to shoot with your cock vane down, so that’s what I was doing.

i was looking for an inexpensive rest and found one on eBay for next to nothing so I figured why not.

I do prefer limb driven tests in general though.

currently have Hamskea on my Athens but will be trying a limb driver soon.
