Wife and I were in Omaha, NE over the weekend and while leaving our hotel one day I saw a pamphlet for Scheels by the door. I had never been to one before and hadn't heard much but I knew they were a big sporting goods store so I wanted to check it out. Holy crap I was impressed! We walked around the whole thing and wifey was nice enough to let me spend about an hour in the archery department shooting a couple different bows. I was very surprised at the great customer service everyone throughout the store gave. They all seemed very nice and like they enjoyed their jobs. The fellow that helped me in the archery department was very friendly and knowledgeable as well and didn't make it seem like I was wasting his time just because I wanted to try a couple bows with no intentions of buying. I was surprised that they carried such high end bows for a "big box store". Their prices seemed pretty reasonable compared to other retailers on most everything I looked at as well. There was a rumor about one going in the Legends area in KC, but I'm not sure if that's still the case or not. I sure hope so, I'll be putting in my two weeks at Cabela's for sure! HA.. It makes our store look like a freakin K-Mart. Or should I saw Wal-Mart because that's where they are getting all of their management lately...
