I found one today in Saint Paul, MN. I was moving cams and just happened across one in an oak point with a lot of acorns on the ground.

I actually found one 32 yards from one of my stands this afternoon. I finally took a break from cleaning up debri from the hurricane to check on my stands. It was fresh, about 2' in diameter with a couple of puddles still in it, Just hope i didnt spook him. If so it was just 4 wheeler noise, so maybe he isnt bugged out to much.

I have one that stays active all year I occasionally put some buck fever synthetics on it. It dies disappear because of all the snow in the hard couple months but as soon as it starts to warm up the bucks are back to it.

I saw a scrape while I was out today. When I checked the camera, some older deer are already in hard horn. I see scrapes whenever the deer are in hard horn, from the time they shed velvet until they shed antlers. I believe it is a response to increasing testosterone levels. It's good to see, for sure. Some community scrapes are hit year round, I have seen that in the past. Bucks begin visiting scrapes from around now, into the fall, and later on in the winter as far as I can tell. If you can find a scrape line, often a couple bucks will utilize it - particularly in late October. It can be good earlier as well.

Two weeks ago. I found a huge 6' diameter scrape below hanging branches of an apple tree. I set up a camera and got pictures of 14 different bucks in two weeks. Everything from three pointers up to a 160" ten and a nice 13 pointer. Some velvet bucks, some hard horned bucks. Some during daylight.
