I just bought a ooal camera arm and a small rig fluid head with phone mount. I want to start filming my hunts and was wondering if anyone has purchased and used and of the lenses for phones. What would work best for filming hunts to get a better quality shot? Do I need to get a beast cage or something like that to get the most out of my phone? Any input would be appreciated I just don’t know what direction to go without buying a superset video camera

You’ll need all the shots to be close. In my opinion the sensor on iPhones are large enough to gather light when it’s needed. My deer move at the last bit of light and iPhones just don’t work for that imo. Don’t add that you need to zoom in and the amount of noise that will be increased is tremendous. Lots of correction will need to be done in post. Now if there’s plenty of lighting and in a bright area you don’t have to worry.

This is why dslr and mirrorless cameras are so popular really large imaging sensor to gather light. Then the ability to mess with aperture, iso, etc makes post production less of a headache.

not saying it can’t be done but don’t expect some high quality movie

For filming hunts with your phone, consider lenses like wide-angle or telephoto for better versatility and quality shots. Brands like Moment and Olloclip offer high-quality options. While a beast cage can enhance stability and provide mounting options, you might find that your current setup with the fluid head is sufficient for most needs. Experimenting with different angles and lighting will also help improve your footage.
