Insert the cord in the middle of the cable then time the rest to be at full rise between 1.5 and 2" before full draw. Tie 7 half hitch knots below the cord wraping the serving around the cable after each half hitch, then bring the serving around and over the cord and repeat above the cord. Finish with a square knot. Cut 1/8" from the knot and bead the serving with a flame being careful not to burn the string or cable. Cut the cord 1/4" from the cable and take a solder iron and bead the cord being careful not to melt it into the cable.
I usually just tie a d-loop knot around the cable with the drop cord. Then use braid with a series of overhand knots on alternating sides of the cable (about 8-10 knots above and below the cord) to keep it in place. I also finish with square knots, but instead of burning, I smear in some fletching cement.
