So this is a brief review for the Sevr 2.0. I have used this since last year and last night I put down my fourth deer with them since last September.
I’m very happy over all. All 4 shots have fully deployed on entry and passed clean through. On two kills including the one last night the blades pivoted on the exit resulting in a smaller exit hole. Both were still at least 1 inch holes. I have not encountered any bone except ribs so I can’t comment on that. I’m fairly confident my setup would have no trouble smashing through the flat of a scapula.
I’ve had plenty of blood, but as always this is from shot placement not broadhead design primarily.
What’s probably most impressive is that the heads look great even after hitting and burying in the dirt. I still replace the blades per Sevr’s instructions, but the ferrules look great.
For anyone wondering, here’s my set up:
Mathews Traverse
70lbs
30” mods
Victory VForce Elite 300 spine
28.25 carbon to carbon
75 grain Easton brass insert
Hard helical with 3 Blazers
125 grain Sevr 2.0
500 grain total weight
17.6 % FOC

Thanks for the real life results!! Great review and dead deer to prove it.

Curious on the 4 deer, were they all fairly broadside or did you see these same results on any that were quarter away slightly or greatly?

Good to see results, a quick question on shot placement why shooting so far back instead of further up to get heart and lungs ? I may be missing something as this is my second season bow hunting I’ve mostly shot 3D for archery. But coming from gun hunting most of my life most shot placement seams far back. Thanks for the review

Well I’m not the best shot, but I aim to hit that heart lung tie in area straight up the backside of the front leg. I don’t want to intentionally try to punch through the shoulder. It they are quartered at all, one side either the entrance or exit will look further back. Also, they don’t always stand still and take it, ya know. I shot another one last night that started to spin at the shot so I ended up hitting just by the heavy shoulder bone and exiting the gut. She made it about 140 yards.

Ok I see guys who are great shots (I’ve seen a pro or 2 do it as well) shooting that far back on purpose and don’t understand why
