We just pulled one of our trail cams today and here's one of the bucks (Pa) on it. How much more antler do you think he'll put on?

Western Pa...Beaver County. We've been seeing a lot of bigger bucks this year, but this is the biggest on trail cam so far this year. This season is looking good for the big one's. :darkbeer:

to me this deer looks real young and not really all that big.. maybe things are different in your area though. if it's big enough for you, then i say take him. good luck.

Since you asked... No, I would not consider him a shooter. On my farm, he would need 2 more years. But, the beauty is always in the eye of the bow-holder.... :wink: :darkbeer:

As others have said, he is pretty much a sbig as he's gonna get since we are in to August now. As for a shooter, maybe next year, but this year, I'd let him walk

around here that's only a 2 1/2 year old deer..so definately not a shooter. like a lot of guys said id give him at least another year if not two.

Not much more growth this year. Whether he is shooter or not is up to the invidual. If he is to you that's all that matters. Hunt to please yourself and fill your goals not someone elses.

I'd let him pass, especially if you are seeing bigger ones while glassing right now. Younger deer, 7 pointer, not going to grow much more between now and shedding velvet time.

If you let him pass, I am almost positive there are other guys around you who would snap him up!
I honestly think if I saw him on the property I was hunting with my bow, I would take him. Chances are he would not survive gun season around where I hunt with the drives and numerious people floating around.

Not in IL, but let me tell you . . . if you let bucks like that go here in eastern NY, and assuming you were an excellent hunter, you would proably get a larger 3.5 year old buck once every 10 years or so, maybe longer. I probably would pass that buck, but the reality is, you have to hunt the bucks you have. The reason I go to IL is so that I can pass bucks like that.
