Im looking to get my 6 yr old son a bow. The shortest I've seen so far was 26" I was going to get the mini genesis but thats almost 30" and I want something that has a draw cycle with let off to my knowledge the genesis function more like a recurve.

Go with the Diamond Atomic, its the best bow for almost all youth under 10yrs old... goes 6-29lb 12-24" draw

agree^^^^its as good as it gets...

i still like a recurve or longbow for kids....keeps it so simple, and teaches the basics of archery...sorry, i had to throw that in here.

I started my daughter with a PSE mini burner. She did well with it until she was 13YO. It was a bit smaller and lighter then the atomic if I remember correctly.

I bought my 6Yo a compound bow for children off Amazon for $100,(pandaras) it shoot great for what it is. He is a lefty and cannot use his sisters bow.

Their is a fine balance with draw length, draw weight and bow weight for the very young kids.

Arrows will be important, you need light arrows, most that come in a package deal will be too heavy.

may best advice is use some type of reactive target. They quickly get bored of shooting at a colored circle. Small water balloons, clay pigeons or ping pong balls would keep mine shooting all day.

My son is a lefty aswell. I've been trying to find out if he is left eye dominant right now he shoots the bow he has "bear apprentice" both ways and doesn't have a preference but he keeps giving me mixed answers when we do the eye test with the hole in an index card. Great idea with the objects he will love that. Thanks for the feedback
