Do most crossbow hunters carry a sidearm for protection?

I carry, period. Woods carry is typically my sp101 with some stout 357, 200 grain hard cast CorBon,and cuz it’s a Ruger no issues🙂(and no, I’m not worried about bears , but it’s really the only place I can justify carrying such potent rounds, lol. My day to day is .38s in another sp101) 200 HC is somewhat unpleasant at the range but hits where it’s aimed, so no complaints

Protection from what??? If I need more attitude adjustment than a 2 inch cut broadhead provides, I am thinking I will need something more than a handgun.
