Hey guys, I'm new to back tension releases, and have some questions about setting up my Slider release.

I tried shooting it the other day, but I couldn't draw the bow before the release would fire. I am assuming I need to rotate the spike towards my thumb post, but I'm not sure how much to rotate it.

Is there a rule of thumb on setting up a spike release, or is it more preference?

By the way I am shooting 32" draw at 60#

Also, what size hex is the set screw?

Move the spike a lot toward the thumb peg,then start tweaking it backwards. If you valve your teeth keep it set on the heavier side. Better to not make it go off than to samck yourself. Also go the hardware store and buy a set of allen wrenches. Get the set from 1/4" down. You need these all over on the bow anyway. c.sitas

Cool, that was what I was thinking. I have allens, but the set screw is teeny tiny sized. Not something that comes on standard set of allens.
