Hello everyone. I am an archery enthusiast, and for some reasons, I have transitioned from compound bows to crossbows. A few days ago, I purchased a PSE Fang HD, but I found online that the limbs of this crossbow are very prone to breaking. I am quite concerned about this issue. Should I consider buying crossbows from other brands, or purchase spare limbs for the PSE? I would greatly appreciate your advice. Thank you!

Yes from what I remember they are prone to beaking. The same limbs are used on other cheap crossbows. Also the crossbows are actually made in China.
The best time to do research into a purchase is before buying. I have read several posts over the years about PSE limb problems but most companies have limb problems at one time or another. I have had to replace limbs on a Ravin, Scorpyd, Excalibur and Parker crossbows over the years. I would suggest that if you are wanting another bow to come over to the Crossbow Nation Forum ( same forum ownership ) as there is a much larger participation of members who will gladly answer any questions for you.
For a newbie into crossbows I would suggest an Excalibur as they do not require a press to maintain and the strings are easy to replace or adjust brace height on just using a cheap string aid and Excalibur has one of the best if not the best Customer Services in the industry.

Cotton ball. You should be able to wipe a cotton ball over your limbs without snagging. Most crossbows have limb issues and new models take a few years for the issues to surface.

I've never owned a crossbow let alone a PSE Fang... But a customer claimed he's had 8 sets of limbs replaced on his Fang. (I can't prove/disprove his claim) He is coming in this week to put a deposit on a Bear or Xpedition Crossbow...
To the best of my knowledge, the PSE Fang is produced by Hori Zone in Taiwan. They don’t have the best reputation for limbs. If it concerns you and a return is possible, I would return the crossbow and research before you buy anything else. Never heard of PSE selling spare limbs. Killer Instinct may, but it wouldn’t be easy to get a direct match.
I am interested in conversation here, I am for the same purpose. My bow has been shot 10 times to sight it in. My local shop either knows and don't say or don't know and should have alot to say about selling an inferior product. They did talk up the warranty. It's every brand xbow though. Good luck
