Spartan Camera Data Plans Suck

Apparently i am the only one not liking Spartan cameras data plans.
Bought 10 cameras and paid $199 for 12gb plan for one year.
includes 1 camera, each additional camera $5 per month ($60) so 9x60 =$540 + $199 = $739. got it and agree.
After 4 months i ran low on data 10.25gb used. They automatically renewed For another 12 months at $739 next day. Transferred 1.75 data to new plan. 8 months lost of that $540
You can not add data to plan. if you add a camera to your plan on the last month you pay full $60.
Are there better plans or should i expect this to be the norm?

You might want to check and see how much data each camera is using and split it up into two plans, either 6 month plans or 12 month plans with less cameras on each depending on how much data you are using. I know i use a lot less during the off season so I have one 10 camera plan for 12 months and a 3 camera plan for three months. You also shouldn't be billed for the full 12 months if you add a camera part way through the plan. I know when I add a camera to an existing plan it only charges me for the months that are remaining on the plan.

I got away from them for that exact reason. Running Reveals for the last 2 years now, work great and the plans split the pic amounts across all cameras. Got 2 Brownings this year to play with, they seem to be a solid camera with decent plans. I’ll post up the plan info in a few.

The new Spartan plans allow you to split the data as well, you buy the data with the first camera and then add additional cameras to that plan for $5 a month, plans are from single cameras up to 10 cameras on the same plan. There's also no extra charges for anything, HD images and videos are all included.

OK, thanks, that's what I'm used to seeing. The other thing that Spartan offers is that you can add a Verizon camera to your verizon cell phone plan for $5 a month and if your cell phone plan is unlimited then so are the cameras. There's a $3 fee to Spartan for the premium service and with Verizons taxes and fees (depending on your account type) it usually cost $11-$12 a month total for unlimited pictures and videos.

This is a bit late but I think Spartan plans are the best but only if the following conditions: 1. You have a minimum 4-6 cameras. 2. You can do some live streaming but not too often. Think maybe 20-30 seconds perhaps only 15-20 times a year. I usually have about 1 GB left at the end of it. Of course I pull 4 and power off 4 cameras for 6 months on that plan. 3. You don't download videos or rarely do.

I've crunched the numbers and it works the best for me. I keep one account as 12 months. Basically to just keep tabs on feeders and water tanks so I know if they run out. I do shut off some of the cameras to reduce data usage. Beyond that, this year I also did a 6 months plan on some cameras I wanted out in august and then (3) 3 month plans with 4 cameras each for Oct, Nov, Dec. Now the 6 month plan worked pretty well. I only put 3 cameras initially but a month or 2 later added more. it pro-rates the additional $5 a month so instead of $5 x 6 months = $30 they were closer to the $15-$20 each range. Next year I will keep my 1 year plan, do probably (3) 6 month plans and some 3 months plans as I need them. its still nto cheap but it works ok for me. i also run non-cell cams because I can't legally use cell cameras everywhere I hunt.
