Need some input on the types of devices used to climb to a clamp on stand. I have typically used screw in steps or hunted form the ground in blind or stalking. I want something mobile, easy to set up and light weight.

Any ideas and experiences would be appreciated.

I've been using summit bucksteps for the last few years now..Very stable and easily packable.

The Ameristep rapid climbers hold good and work with odd trees light and stack well. Get the 4 x set not the 3 x cheap steel ones at Wally World. The 3 x set is o.k. but not get you very high up 10' maybe 12' max.

i usually get the cheapest steps from The Sportsmans Guide. I havn't really found any disadvantage to going the cheap route with climbing sticks. but i do HATE screw in tree steps.

*2 I stay away from screw in steps. Took a nasty slide down a tree once.The stix .when properly installed work great. I use ratchet staps to secure mine ,not those silly ones that come with it , on every other section at least.
