The picture did not attach properly. Anyway... I believe that in a well-tuned set-up, the wire should not even need to move. The swing-away feature is mostly for flubbed releases or less-than-ideal tunes. If the wire is is being whacked so hard that it rebounds off the riser, something is probably out of tune. Any marks on your arrows or vanes? To protect your riser, you could put some plastic tape over the spot that is being whacked.

This, also keeps dirt from getting into the plunger hole used for the ZT bolt.

I put a small piece of electrical tape there to prevent scratching the riser. I have done high speed video of string walking and the wire most definitely moves. It swings aside very soon after release and stays there until shortly after the arrow is gone.

 

That rest definitely moves though. It doesn't slam into the riser, but it moves.

 

Everything moves. Everything is flexible, and will move or flex in response to the impulse loading from the release. Riser moves, sight flexes, stabilizer flexes. But I don't see any contact between the arrow and the rest.

 

That slow no video is enlightening.

 

Especially when having a discussion about the bow falling away. It is said that it keeps the archer from imparting movement on the arrow but this plainly shows that bow is still vertical when the arrow is yards down range.

 

My Bernardini Luxor came with a small red piece of tape already installed. I guess they figured I needed it. Maybe they saw a video of me shooting on-line.

 

Thats pretty normal for barebow stringwalking. I can see a vertical line in your riser showing vertical wire oscillations. Stringwalking puts downward force on the wire which will cause it to swing in.
