i had a black gold thats dial broke. wouldnt move. useless until it was sent it in. lucky it didnt happen during a hunt. have a friend that just got his back from warranty because the micro adjusts stripped and his dial was getting hard to turn. they are light and bright but they are finicky and fragile. I have multiple spot hoggs (TH, FE, FE XL) that dont have that issue. I've also had good luck with HHAs. Of the SH I like the tommy hogg double pin probably the best.

If you buy them on the classifieds here, you can always try them both and sell the one you dont want without it costing you much.

this is excellent advice. buy used and you can try and be out minimal depreciation. sometimes even make a profit if you get a good deal
