I think that us in MN (northern MN) have the biggest change in weather during the hunting season then any place else. We can go from 90+ and humid to -40 with 30 mph winds. This all takes place during the bow season. That means we need a LOT of different hunting camo and clothing. But the only way the wife understands id if I take her with and that will not be happening to soon, so I jsut hide all my extra camo ;)

Anyone else care to post up your extremes for hunting in your state.

Bout the same here in SE Mich. It never gets that hot for that long...or that cold for that long...but it gets that hot and that cold:wink:

I wouldn't change a thing though.

You can probably relate....watching the weather channel first week of Nov and there it is.

Temp on X day will be 33...and you KNOW exactly what that means. That will be the straw that unlocks the does and the bucks are going to be NUTS!! You start developing your story for why you can't work on Xday:laugh2:

I hear ya, I grew up in Bemidji. Now out here in Co the cold usually isnt quite as bad but it seems to change a bit quicker, like the saying goes if ya dont like the weather just wait 5 min it will change.

In Ohio we have a pretty wide range. Opening day some years 80 degrees and by January -12 degrees. Or what really gets me is 15degrees and snow, then 2 or 3 days later 60 and rain. You go somewhere for a two or three day hunt and you've got to be prepared for anything.

I would have to say SE Alaska. They get swings like crazy in the same day much less the season.

Nowhere near the extremes you have to deal with.

Mid September through mid October (our archery season) is very to mild. The cold stuff doesn't really rear it's head until mid November (if we get lucky and get some cold weather).

Anybody who hunted the week before first shotgun season in So. Il can tell you what a roller coaster ride that was.

Sunburns, bee stings, tornados, hail, downpours, and artic temps all in one week.

You got that right.. I think the day started out to be around 60's-mid70's then it got real crazy after that.. Tornados in Nov. Who would have thunk it.Although not uncommon but still strange none the less... Yeah i know all about it. The saying is, don't like the weather here in Illinois stick around it will be different later!!

I'm thinking around the mountain states. It could be shirt sleeve weather in the morning, and a blizzard in the afternoon.

Here is the answer:

Biggest Temperature Difference In A Day-

The biggest temperature variation recorded in one day is 56°C (100°F), in a fall from 7 to -49°C (44 to -56°F) at Browning, Montana, USA on January 23–24, 1916. The town is located on a native American reservation, inhabited by the Blackfeet tribe. It has a population of around 1,170 and is close to the Glacier National Park.

2 years ago we went from 58 down to -32 in 30 hours, but this was not during hunting season.

pizzle, -40 is no stretch! When I was in college we had actual -60 with -145 windchill. No lie!! It was cold Cold COLD to say the least. We get -40 every year for about 1 week and then hit it a few time more through the winter. I was hunting last year in -30 and it was too cold for me, I suck at cold weather when I am not in my heated stand

I would have to say the northern Canada would have us beat for weather, but we can't count Canada, can we???

The states around MN should all be very close in extremes, but MN is where I hunt most so then it is the worst..............
