Going to be getting a new set of cables & string thinking 452X for cables & 8190 on the string. Would it be unsafe to run 20 strands of 8190 on the string instead of 24 like on the cables? The bow is 60-70lbs & would be shot around the 65-67 range. Yes it's to pick up a few fps, figure if you pick up a few here & there it adds up in the end so I got to start somewhere so let's start with the threads?

I would stick with 24 strands. I played with some 20 strand 8190 strings on my personal bow and it took awhile to settle in compared to the 24 strand.

Stock strings are made from 18 strand 8125 its a BowTech Specialist. Did not know if 20-24 strands of X, 452X or 8190 would be like putting on the brakes or we just talking 2-3fps slower?
