String alignment in sight picture for Olympic recurve

I am shooting Olympic recurve. Fairly new shooter (about a year and a half), but generally able to hold "red or better" accept for occasional plucking which causes the arrow to go left or occasional mis-anchor. 85%-90% of my shots are "red or better". Trying to get better.
The problem I am having, I am a right handed shooter, and everything i read tells me that the blurry string image should be somewhere between the right of the sight aperture and the riser. However, my string is apx 1 sight aperture diameter to the left of my sight as viewed through my right eye. I can not possibly fathom any changes I can make that would not totally screw up my shot. I anchor mid way on the jaw bone, string passes right side of lips, then touches center of tip of nose, head is pretty much as upright as I can get it. I am right handed and right eye dominant. I am 6ft 3in, long reach and had to order long riser from Hoyt.
Has anyone encountered this? Should I just keep going or do I need to stop and make drastic changes before I cement really bad habbit. I can not figure it out.

So, it will be much better to post your questions on OR or barebow over here..... https://www.archerytalk.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=24

To answer your question, everything is a generality. USA Archery has determined that the method you mention is correct. That is debatable.

My guess is that you are not expanding correctly. Look up "Barrel of the gun" related to archery. That can leave your aperture between your string and riser. There are a few other causes but I think what I mentioned is most common.

Don't worry about "screwing up your shot." If it's something that needs to be fixed go ahead and do it, your scores (cause that's what we're really talking about) will come back in time. It doesn't sound like this is something you need to worry about too much, though- I rarely check string blur myself. If I can feel the string is where it should be, then I'm good to go. I will say if your string is coming back to the middle of your nose but falls to the right of center on your lips, that might have something to do with it. Hard to say without pictures, but it's a thought.

Good luck!
