String leeches waste of money?

The string on my D340 seems to have a little twang, not too bad but would be nice if i could get it to go away. The local archery shop says it would be a waste of money to install string surpressors due to the string stop, i see tons of people with string leeches or cat whiskers while having a string stop though?

The guy at my archery shop says that too but my monkey tails made a ton of difference on my bow and my friends bow, but they didnt hold up to well do to them being single cam bows.

I like the monkey tails and have had good luck with them. When I had my GT 500's they were night and day difference with and without them. Without, that bow was real loud, I would put them on and that bow was much, much, quieter.

I tried this on my assassin. Filled it full of ear plugs , pushed them in and packed more behind them till it was full. It made the sound a little different. Spend the thirty bucks for a bow rattler it is a lot quiter.

You would be better off installing cat whisker balls and ditching the leeches. Not that the leeches don't work, but the whiskers work just as well, are lighter, last longer, and look better.

Destroyers are sensitive to weight on the string.

The string stop on bowtechs are not that good I got a bow rattler for my assassin and it made a world of difference. I also am waiting on my set of vapor trail steins and cables that can have bats on them so I've will let you know what I think of the bats once they are on

string leaches work but they just don't last, cat wiskers are much better choice but they will slow your bow down quite a bit.
sounds like your string stop is not adjusted properly, should be just touching your string or verry little bit of space to stop your string from vibrating after the shot.
or get a bowrattler i put one on my AM35 and my Alphaburner and they are both wisper quiet with nothing on the string

I do not mean any disrespect but thats not in agreement with my chrono on the bows I have tested.

Whisker balls only weigh 17 grains each [the way I tie mine on] and speed loss is very little compared to leeches.

they typically dont last that long. If i put em on its just before the hunting season, if they fall off, they stay off till next september. if you have a string stopper in your bow like most do these days and speed buttons toward the cams, leeches are probably a waste

I use the string leeches, and I find that I wear them out every other month, but I keep using them for ease of installation (I have a press). The cat whiskers do more for quieting, cost less, but PIA to get just right (perfect golf ball).

my bow was loud....tried shooting arrows that were 75 grains heavier, and it made no difference. Went to my local bow shop and he installed some Limbsaver everlast string leeches, and oh man....what a huge difference. My bow is in stealth mode now. :)

I use whiskers on the string and monkey tails on the cables of my GT that I hunt with and it is very quiet.

I also use monkey tails but I find them not lasting all that long, and, they are way too spendy considering that.

The work almost as good as whisker balls and weigh the same. Neither require a press.
