Lots of people use peg boards for their string materials. I keep my spools on a shelf under my work bench in the plastic bag they come in. Keep them dry and out of the sun and you should be fine.

Keep it cool, dry and out of direct sunlight. I keep all my string stuff in the basement in a black tote.

getting into building strings and cables. my collection is small right now, but i plan on growing it. does anyone have any good storage ideas for string and serving material? View attachment 7825034
Someone on Etsy makes this and well worth it for $35. I ended up getting some of their other products too. I’m doing everything I can to avoid getting into string building, already have more hobbies than time, but if so pegboard with the single straight peg hooks from Home Depot would be my choice. Another option if wanting to mount on press would be to use heavy magnet hooks and replace screw in hooks with bolts to fit spool size.
