String silencers on New Hoyts

I’m currently waiting on a Hoyt Ventum Pro 30 that’s I’ve had on order and working on accessories until it gets here. I’m retiring my 2015 Elite Synergy and got to thinking about string silencers. I had the bow shop install string leeches on my elite before I left but it seems like I’m not seeing any on pictures of these new bows on the forum. Are they not necessary anymore? Or just not worth the loss in speed? May sound silly but I don’t want to get home w the new bow just to have to run back up there and install string leeches a week later.

Hoyt uses some fairly hard but duable rubber (leach like) dampeners, they go between the string and are low profile and pretty durable. Best option is to either stay stocked up on monkey tails and tie in some good old fashioned cat whiskers.

I was looking for these Hoyt Holeshot silencers for a backup string on my RX7 Ultra and came across another post suggesting that rubber wire grommets might be a good alternative. I ordered these off Amazon and once installed it was clear these are identical to what Hoyt is using.

Im shooting a Ventum Pro 33. Installed monkey tails last week just to see if I noticed anything. I noticed the difference from the first shot. It seemed a bit quieter. And its hard to explain but the shot seemed a little smoother. the advantage with the monkey tails is that you just tie them on the string, if you don't care for them, just untie them. No press necessary .

The stock string silencers on the new Hoyt’s split the string like a peep and will for sure change your overall string length vs not having them in. I’d take the specs of the bow and string into account if you planned on taking them off.
