One of my friends told me that adding a string stop can increase your speed 15 fps? Is there any truth to this because he has been known to stretch facts alot.

They can if they are lighter then the nock and bushing you are currently using.

they might, but only by like 1-2 fps, definitely not 15

mine picked up 7. i adjusted the gap until it was actually preloaded against the string @ 1/8 inch. it also got rid alot of the string buzz and some noise. then i added speed nocks too.

How many strings stops on the fastest bows? If adding another would it be faster yet?

Yes they can,especialy if your nocks are to tight,but then again thats the problem in the first place;nocks to tight can actually slow your arrow down alot ,more than most think,I've tested it on my chrono.If they hold on to long they hold the arrow back AND give inconsitent release causing your arrow to have funky kicks,nothing drastic,but then again we are all looking for perfection or we wouldn't ask most of the questions we do.

it was worth another 2 fps to add a second above the nock point, but a big improvement in vib reduction.
