It depends on the bow or cam style. But, you are not have any trouble shooting it, so I would assume a single cam is what you have. The major thing is you are probably getting lower poundage and a longer draw. If you feel you have enough killing power with what you have then don't worry about it. Just make sure the string is not stretching or breaking underneath the serving. I had a string come almost apart under the serving where i was nocking the arrow one time.
It is truely never a wise idea, to hunt with old ill, prepared equipment. I would certainly think about replacing them before the rut gets in. What happens if a cable decides to go during the hunting season? Then you are going to have to retune and sight.
