I gotta ew reflex grizzly and i have always shot my release directly on the string. I have a string loop on this bow and i have probibly only shoot just over 50 arrows, i know you need to shoot around 200 or better for the string to properly seat. but after every few shots the string loop would be backwards. This is ther only accessory on the string right now. im going to add a peep sight soon. but is this the string stretching? or do string loops move like this? and if after 200+ shots this keps happening is that a good sign to replace the string?

You need to shoot string for a while longer to determine. I have had zero luck with the original string on the less expensive line of bows. I have one for my grandson and one for my son. I am using rubber tubed on their peeps so they don't have to keep resetting the loops, etc.

IMO, If you don't want to go the tubing route, you will have to get a better string.

I have had the same problem with my loop moving around on the string and found that the problem may not be string stretch. Often, the center serving does not grip the loop tight enough. When this happens, the string rotates inside the loop as you draw. The result is that the loop rotates with the string when you release and the loop ends up in the wrong place after a few shots.

Are you sure that the string loop is rotating on the string? Since it is a new bow and the string isn't settled in yet could the entire string be rotating? I had to go to a tubing peep for the same reason.

i am planning on using a peep without tubing. I am still a novice to the mechanics of a bow. but after a couple shots the string loop would be facing the riser instead of where it should be. Since the loop is also my only nock point (as of now) i am worried all this twisting might throw it off. But when i get my new arrow rest and take it to the shop i think i want to have a nock tied on, or just have a brass nock put on for my nocking point then have the loop tied.

soeaking of that i think ill go to a local shop now and buy a peep just to see ow bad the rotating is if its happening.

Note the relationship between the loop and the peep. Shoot a few shots until the loop moves as you described above. Now look to see if the peep has rotated like the loop or if the loop has moved and the peep is in relatively the same place. This should tell you if you are having string stretch or if the loop is moving.

My bet is that the loop is moving. I have had several loops that did exactly as you descibed and the problem turned out to be the loop not grabbing the serving tight enough thus allowing the string to twist inside the loop.

;) Tying the loop on as in the pic my stop it from turning.( one knot on one side and one knot on the other side) However, the cure all for the peep and the string loop staying in position is to put them on a Winner's Choice string.

Buy a good string

Ulitmately your string is inferior, if you don't want a peep tube, you will have to buy a better string. There are a hundred threads here discussing this issue. Just throw down another hundred bucks and you can be done with all the worrying.

i went to buy a peep, they only had the tubless type that seperate the string in 3 sections, i want a peep that seperates in 2 sections.

I will talk to the guy i bought my bow from. He makes strings in his bow shop. my buddy has a string on his bow the guy made. hes happy with it. the bow shop guy is the traditional archery campion on wv for 4 years and has won the compound championchip once. so it seems he knows what hes doing.

thanks guys

Your Reflex bow is using the same strings that come on the regular Hoyt bows. I believe that Hoyt & Parker have the worst factory strings on the market. They just won't stop stretching.
Rather than fight with those strings, I would Give Jarrod a call at "Vapor Trail" strings. I believe he makes the best strings on the market, and they are priced right!

Vapor Trail" strings were rated No1 by "BowHunting Word" this year, No2 was "Winners Choice"

These strings are just a cut above in every way.

Im going to talk to my buddy tonight and see how he likes his string the bow shop made for him. I was thinking about getting a new string any way for a custom look. About how much do they run $50?

;) I don't know what your guy will charge but I sell the standard green and tan Winner's Choice for $35 on a two cam or a hybrid. $55 for a solo cam. This does not include installation. Just for comparison I sell my run of the mill FF for $9 and $14 for Prem 450. $29 on a solo cam.
