Will an LS390 string work on an older SZ380?

Depends on how much older. 2010-2011 models used 35-1/2" string. I think in 2012 they went to 36" or 36-1/2" string. I believe that the LS390 used the longer string.

I believe they are different . I had some made for my 390 last year and they made them to spec for the 380 and they wouldn’t work

But would they work the other way around, 390 spec on a 380? Doesn't have to be perfect, just usable.

This may help,... the LS has the same specs as the OLD SZ before they lengthened the string and cables to stop the limb problems, if I had an old SZ I would go with the longer string and cables to have less less stress on the limbs.

Thanks, that's exactly what I had in mind, a new LS string on an old SZ380.
