I agree 100%. I've preached and preached a buck don't care what oak tree they eat under or hill they live on. Guys go out and hang stands cut shooting lanes put out feeders. Do everything they can to spook off the nice bucks in the area. And then wonder why they never kill anything nice.
I would say 95% of the nice bucks I've killed were the first day or two of hunting a new spot. Where I just slipped in hung a stand and hunted it. No cutting shooting lanes or any other activity and a climber is better. Or a old stand that's been there for years or a blind that's left out year round. Or just set against a tree.
