Viper SD is a great stand and very comfy for all day sits. If you want to be able to shoot sitting down, the Openshot SD is nice but not nearly as comfortable for all day sits.

 

I second the viper. I also would look at the goliath. I have both and have had many all day sits.

 

I assume you want a climber.

Definitely an Aluminum Viper. I heard that even the aluminums now are made overseas.

 

Yes I have multiple millennium lock on love them
But hunting public places in and out don’t want to fool with lock on

Been using the Summit Viper SD for years and love it..

 

Vipers are the go-to for a reason. I LOVE my Goliath, but some may not need the extra room.

 

You should call Donnie, I think is his name, cougar claw tree stands, made in alabama

 

I would also look at the Cougar claw line. If I was looking that's probably what I would get. Donnie is a great guy to deal with.

 

Check out their Dual Axis hang ons, the seat is configured so you can sit on the end of it when it is flipped up, nice because you are kinda sitting/standing. Of course well made and a quality stand. I have a couple and may add a couple more this winter.

 

Cougar Claw does have some nice features

 

I'd consider other climbers as well. Imo summits have been going backwards
in design features since Pradco outdoor brands took over. They manage to ruin
every company they touch into the ground & bleed it dry. Sorry for the small rant,
but I personally would spend my money other places & get a way better product.

Check out equalizer treestands too. You could also change the sitting around for
whatever you would want. You could use a summit style seat or a hammock too.
That stand packs great & about the easiest to climb with.

There are several other companies that would fit your bill.

 

I have a Summit Viper SD that is great! It’s probably 5 or 6 years old. I have used it in a few years. If was thinking about selling since it’s not getting any use, but shipping is ridiculous, so I’ll probably hang onto it or sell it at a yard sale in the summer. Most comfy stand I’ve ever tried.

 

Summit Max 180 is an awesome stand
for all day comfort

 

I don't mind my Viper, but I have a hard time shooting out of it and shorter distance and close range because of the high side rails. Then at the end of the day getting it back together where I can carry it out. Nice comfortable stand though. Just don't but the open or steel one. The Max 180 does looks really nice.
