Hello:

I use Vapor Trail TS-1, and will until something better comes out.

Before the TS-1, I used Winners Choice 8125, before that 450+, and 452. I've been using Vapor Trail TS-1 for months now, shooting + /- 100 arrows a day. That means I've fired several thousand arrows thru this set of strings so far, and they are still looking new! String stretch is minuscule, and price of the strings and cables are about the same as a set Zebra strings. There is no extra charge for the colors of your choice, the servings are coated & served extremely tight, and your order is shipped the next day.

If Vapor Trail did charge as much as Winners Choice (they don’t, not by a long shot), I would still be buying the Vapor Trail. It is just a superior set up.

Compare the quality of both strings, and then look at the difference in prices between them. In my opinion “Vapor Trail” is a better product, at a much better price. These are some of the reasons I say this:

(1) Both come with very tight servings, nicely done!
(2) The string colors are vivid on both however; “Winners Choice”, will charge you an extra fee for custom colors of your choice. With “Vapor Trail” there’s never an extra charge for “Your Colors”.
(3) Vapor Trail strings are shipped the day after you order. Winners Choice, who knows?
(4) With “Vapor Trail” you will save on average 35-40 dollars per order.
(5) Generally speaking, TS-1 string material will send arrows downrange 4-8 fps faster than factory, more so for “Hoyt” & “Parker”

There are a lot of benefits in ordering Vapor Trail, but I’m sure you’ll find that out yourself.

Winners Choice does make a good product, but they charge far too much for their strings (While Vapor Trail depends on "word of mouth", W.C. spends BIG BUCKS for its advertising). If you have an old “Winners Choice” string lying around, or you have a friend who has one, compare it to a “Vapor Trail” string. You will see why I speak so highly about “Vapor Trail”.

These strings are a cut above in every way.

Meatco and I seem to show up on all these threads :D

But rather than cut and paste the same response every time I am going to give you some fresh advice.

Give that string a chance. Shoot it for a while and find a good setup with it. I have messed up some good strings by all the tuning I do on a new bow... Move the peep up and down, change peep sizes a dozen times, move the nock points and D-loops all over the place.....You know the drill ...LOL :) It may very well turn out to be a decent string.

Now, if you are in need of a new string, getting ahold of GAS Bowstrings would be a good choice.

It is my understanding that the strings on the new Switchback are made of 8125. Give them a chance. They may actually be good strings.

Vapor Trail of Course!!!!

Vapor Trail Strings are in one word...AWESOME!!! The customer service you recieve is outstanding, the strings are beautiful (you get to pick your colors for free), they're shipped out the same day, the price (just get some quotes from some other companies, you'll be surprised how inexpensive Vapor Trails are), and they are of awesome quality. A buddy was helping me put mine on my bow and he loved 'em. This guy has shot "the so-called best string out there" and couldn't get over the Vapor Trails. You won't be disappointed!!! :D

Vapor Trail Strings and Cables

When you are drawing on a trophy animal (or any animal for that matter), or on a dot at 20 yrds, or a 3d target what is the worst thing that could happen? You can't see through your peep right!!! Well several months ago I solved that and went to what I consider the best string on the market Vapor Trail Strings. Hands down this is the best strings and cables I have ever strung on a bow. I'm not saying other companys don't make fine strings, but Jarod and his crew are some of the best in the business in the service department. And their prices are hands down the best on the market. Here are some points to consider.

* "Vapor Trail" strings was rated No1 by "BowHunting Word" this year? No2 was "Winners Choice"
* Order one morning and it will be shipped out that day or the next business day
* Tons of colors to choose from ( at no extra charge for the colors you want )
* The tightest coated serving you can get on a string
* The TS-1 material that is used will increase arrow speed up to 10 f.p.s.
* String stretch is almost non existant after 1000's of shots
* Veteran pros Terry and Michelle Ragsdale have been using the Vapor Trail line of strings and cables for many years, setting countless National records and winning championships everywhere they shoot. -Truly proof of the consistency long term pros have come to expect and rely on.
Give Jarod a call @ 1-800-310-8110 he will get you set up with a the best string on the market for the best price.
Good luck with whatever you are drawing on!!!!!!

AK Doug:

I have typed so many responses on the string issue, I gave up. The facts remain the same no matter whether I type a fresh letter for each post; take the letter off my MS Word, or cut and paste.

The issue is the best string out there. I’ve tried a lot of very good custom strings, some very poor custom strings, and factory strings (a lot of factory strings in 45+ years of shooting).

The best string I’ve every used? Vapor Trail of course. I endorse it because it works, I don’t have to fiddle around adjusting my peep every week, the speed advantage is there, and he doesn’t take advantage of his customers by charging an arm & a leg. It was rated #1 by "BowHunting Word", and every person I know of who uses "Vapor Trail" strings, keeps on buying them for their new bows, their back up bows, and some will even buy a set for their childrens bows.

Believe me, the quality is there!

See, now you’ve got me typing a new post.
