Do I need string silencers and limb savers on the xt and if so, Are the limbsaver ultras with the double sided tape the right way to go?
The reason I ask about the silencers is because it looks like it has some sort of silencer built in. Yes / No ?

You will need nothing at all on the XT. The bows are super quiet just bare. Ask D. Boone I shot mine this weekend and he was commenting on how quiet the bow was.

I have the old rubber cat whisker looking string silencers on mine, but no limb savers. My buddy has the exact same bow with limb savers and string silencers on his, and when we are side by side shooting the human ear cannot detect a difference between them.

IMHO say your money on the STS.
Mine has the limb savers, sims modular stabilizer, 2 weights on the back of the riser, stem weight on the front, Beaver Ball string silencers-------makes for even a sweeter shoot than bear bow. :) :darkbeer:

I recently put an sts on mine and I love it. I thought it couldn't get much more quiet or vib. free, but I really noticed the diff. after the first shot. I dont put anything on my string other than a peep, you dont need it in my op.:darkbeer:

I always put limb savers on my bow's limbs. Probably a mental thing for me, but if it will take some stress off the limbs, why not? On the Switchback, I would not put any string leeches in. When I put them on mine, it seem to increase the string suppressor wear and there was not a difference in the noise. As for the STS, never had one so I can't comment on them.

STS on XT

I also put an STS on my XT and it made a noticable difference. If you have shot it you already know that there isn't much vibration (which equates to noise) from the bow. But there is still some and the various vibration dampeners can make some difference.

It also makes a differnce on the arrow weight you are shooting if your a pushing the line on the 5 grains/inch minimum the bow will be noisier and will benefit more from some of the vibration dampening "gizmo's" than if you are shooting a heavier arrow.
