No, you cannot disable the camera without approaching it and physically turning it off..
With the Tactacams you can change or upgrade your MONTHLY plan any time you want using the app on your cell phone. I usually do it 2 days before the current monthly billing cycle is up. You just have to wait at least a day to take effect on it's next daily check-in.
The monthly Starter plan is 250 pics each month for $5
The monthly intermediate allows 500 pics each month for $8.
The monthly Pro plan allows UNLIMITED pics each month for $13
Each camera you have will be about the same with a slight discount.
The picture count is shared between all cameras. If you have 2 cameras on your account on the intermediate plan it costs $8.00 + $7.50 for each additional camera per month. That gives you 1,000 pics split between 2 cameras. You could basically put 1 camera in a spot with few pics and the other in a high activity location. The picture count keeps a running total until your limit is reached. You could get 200 pics on camera #1 and 800 pics on camera #2 or vice versa. When you reach the limit, both cameras will stop sending pictures to your cell phone.
Hope I explained it satisfactorily.
DO NOT get a yearly plan unless you are sure it is what you want. It cannot be undone. If you don't use them, the money is spent. Do the monthly plans first and see what you like or don't like. Monthly changes don't break the bank.
I'm not pushing for Tactacams, just trying to explain how THEY work.
Other Cellular cameras may fit your needs better. I rolled the dice on mine and am happy with the results.
Good luck!
