Not with blowdowns and branches, but a portable "system". Specifically ones you make out of stakes, poles, camo netting, etc. Something portable, lightweight, easily strapped to a pack, etc.

I've seen a few with stakes and camo netting on youtube, and they seem simple enough, but what about other options? Obviously they should be conducive to hunting with a bow.

Thanks,

Emrah

Ive used 3D blind material, just carry it in your bag and there's always limbs or branches to stick in the ground to hold the material up in front of you.
Where I hunt it's so thick I usually have plenty of vegetation to conceal myself but the 3D material comes un handy at times.

A blind has to be found or constructed if you are planning on a fixed location. Otherwise, as Fred Bear wrote, keep it simple, keep into the wind, away from the sun, in the dark, and off of skylines, ridgelines, and keep it slow, low, and LOOK AROUND... this tells you what's there, and what you can do about it without attracting attention. Learn how to "see through brush" with your binoculars.

As to fixing a blind... it's quite simple really... keep yourself from being seen... this can happen in the open even... though with a bow more problematic... so IN MY OPINION... follow the Bear prescription and keep it rational.. use terrain as much as possible, cover as much as possible, and if you have to construct something, use existing components as much as possible. My very first deer was shot sitting in the open with deer all around me... disconcerting... but animals will either smell you or see you... generally moving, but they don't see still very easily...

Any particular netting you guys prefer? I was at Walmart and Allen sells a heavier burlap version and a much lighter weight mesh version. Both the same size.

Have you noticed a difference in camo or color? Do you add natural foliage to it wherever you are? If so, what is your method of attaching it?
